Eommerce: My Favourite Sustainable and Disruptice Technologies

A disruptive technology that I use on a daily basis is my cell phone. RIM (Research in Motion) has came up with the latest technology and now is used by billions of people around the world. This brilliant device has enable everyone to connect to one another with a touch of a button. BBM also called instant messenger has now been input into the phone to talk instantly to your peers at anytime. It's just like a computer but in the palm of your hands. You can also connect to the internet and surf the web on this tiny device. It's absolutely amazing and I use this everyday and every minute of my life. This technology is more disruptive rather than sustainable because its not what we need but what we want. There are people out there that are against using a mobile phone and they are living just fine, so that proves that it's not sustainable. Also it has been awarded the most disruptive technology out there.

A sustainable technology that I use frequently is my refrigerator. Without a refrigerator, there will be no place to store frozen foods or desserts and we wouldn't be able to keep our food supply long lastly. Every house as a refrigerator so that we can keep our food long lasting until we want to eat it. It saves a lot of money and effort. Imagine having to go out everyday drive to a restaurant spend money to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner. No one would be able to afford that unless you are a billionaire. Even restaurant use refrigerator to store there frozen goods. This is a need and not a want, without this we won't be able to survive long.

My Business Process

I currently work at Parasuco high end Retail store, where I constantly use my business process repeatedly.

1.) Process Engine: In the morning before the store opens there are sets of roles and rules I have to read and achieve them. Usually sweeping the floor, moping, windex all the mirrors and make sure everything looks neat and tidy. After when the store closes I then have to fold and size all the clothing, sweep the floor, windex all the mirrors again, and make sure the store is neat for tomorrow. With all workplaces there are many rules also. You have to greet costumers within 5 second of them entering the store, you have to follow and check up the customer, build a good relationship and help them with whatever they need to buy, but our number one rule is  make SALES, SALES, and SALES!

2.) Business Analytics: In  this step you have to identify all the issues or problems, opportunity and goals the team will face. There will be many problems that will occur in the workplace, so managers will usually have meetings that stress all the issues, opportunity and goals. It will constantly change so usually the meetings are once and month to ensure that all the sales associates are all task and solve any issues so it doesn't happen again. We work as a team!

3.) Content Management: This is a system that you use to store data and files of your employees. In this case Parasuco uses the computer in order to store all that information.

4.) Collaboration Tools: The collaboration we use mainly in this workplace is communication. It is key to success and for greater sales. You build and good relationship with the customer and then highlight all the benefits to the clothing and lastly give your honest opinion on the clothing. We use communication to also solve problems, if someone if confused or needs help with sales we help each other build sales higher for the company's profit which then comes back to us with our reports and pay cheques.

My Reflection on Information Systems

My IS Day

My IS day that I use frequently is my HP Computer. It stores and inputs data and I can connect with anyone around the whole world. This is one of the new most popular technology created. Everyone has a computer at home and uses it daily. Not just at home but in the workplace we use the computer to generate everything. Without this, our world wouldn't survive.

 1.) People: The computer is based on an information system that is developed by the people and for the people. Computer users are people who will use the computer system on a daily basic and use it as a form of communication. The developers are the people, who will develop the system on a basis of requirement.
 

2.)  Data: Raw information that is collect on the facts and figures. There are several ways the an organize data e.g. Data Base Management System or File Management System. A computer based on statistics system that is used to process data into information.

3.) Procedures are the actions that are used by the people to process the data into information. Operating procedures are used to operate the computer, Data entry, Communication, Maintenance, Back up and error recovery. Emergency procedures are used to trouble shoot.

4.) Hardware: Different types of Hardware used for Computer Based Information System is; Input hardware (Keyboard, mouse, etc.), Processing hardware (Processor, Memory, etc), Output hardware (Monitor, printer, etc) and Storage hardware (Disk drive, etc)

5.) Software: Different types of software used in CBIS (Computer Based Information System) is, first application software including word processing, electronic spreadsheets, graphical packages and databases. Second, system soft wares including operation systems and communication software.

My Community Involvement

• I helped at elementary schools and did arts and craft with the younger kids
• I donated blood to those who need it
• I went on school field trips and help out the teachers
• I helped out with breakfast with Santa
• Helped out my school with bake sales
• I helped out at the library and put all the books into the right places
• I was a "Reading star coach" which was helping younger kids learn how to read
• I helped out at the nursery homes near my house and read books to elderly people who lived there
• I sang in the choir for church and helped them set up
• Helped collect donations to the sick kids and homeless people

Most of my community involvements hour were spent on with helping children and the elderly. I believe that when we are younger we tend to look upon older people and want to be like them so I wanted to become that role model that children can tell there parents that they want to be just like me when they grow older. The same with the elderly, as you grow really old, you tend to act like a kid again. Looking at those in need and I know I can help them, I feel like why should i waste my energy in doing something for myself when I can do something for someone else and put a smile on there faces. The feeling of helping out someone is the best feeling, even if you don't get anything back at least you know that you made someones life better.

My Personal Achievements

 I receive my first award in 2004 for being the most creative and artistic designer in the class. Starting there I then continued in art designs and receive the same award each year. As I grew older, I realize that art in general wasn't what I really wanted to go far with. Instead it was a different type of art, fashion arts; sketching out all the different clothing. Then putting it together and sewing it up. As I got into that, I thought that doing this wasn't enough and that I wanted to make money and find a job that requires my skills and talents. At first, I was planning to sew up clothing and sell it, however that required a lot of work and time. As a full time student i didn't have enough time, so I just gave up. One of my most fears is giving up something that I know if i work for it I can go far. But I was still young and wanted to experience other things.
They say that a person has 100 and more talents that they never knew they even had. I looked at what I was good at compared to what I liked and put the puzzles together. I liked fashion but my whole mindset wasn't on becoming a fashion designer. So that wasn't the career I wanted to focus on.

Since I was younger I loved being in front of the camera and would dress myself up just to take pictures. The more practice I did the better I was getting and I loved it! So i thought maybe this time, I wanted to become a model. I started going to shooting parties meet new photographers even had my own cards to give them, eventually I was known for my modeling, however as time passes I still yet again didn't feel stable with this career. Maybe this wasn't what I wanted either. But I knew now that i had a lot of potential. I knew that if i put my mind in something I will be able to achieve it, I proved it to myself and that's what gave me my own determination to dream bigger. I wanted to be an artist, I became one, I wanted to be a fashion designer, I didn't become one however I designed and made my own clothes to sell; lastly I wanted to become a model and get my name out there and I became one. Through all of this, I learned that if you set a goal for yourself and really want to become something, you will. Nothing will magically appear in front of you.. The effort you put into your dreams or even into anything is what you are going to receive back.
